HSPlus is comprised of a dedicated team of highly skilled experts, who lead with a people-first philosophy.

Led by Directors Sam Hall and Vibol Peou, who are supported by the Senior Management Team of Rebecca Poutsma, Emily Smith and Deanna Henare, our team brings together decades of combined experience across accounting, tax compliance, business advisory, and wealth management. But beyond the credentials and qualifications, what truly sets our team apart is their approach — proactive, and always in your corner.

Sam Hall

Director

I am a Chartered Accountant and have been working in the industry since 2007. I worked at HSPlus from 2007 to 2011, before moving to a mid-tier CBD firm then heading overseas to London, returning to HSPlus in 2017. I bring both local knowledge from working in reputable Brisbane firms and international experience as a Management Accountant for a commercial finance team in London. It was my time abroad where I developed my communication skills allowing me to provide pragmatic advice for complex commercial transactions.

I started my journey with HSPlus Accountants & Advisory in 2006 and worked my way up from the front desk to Director. Through hard work and commitment, I've earned my place as an integral part of the team — an excellent problem solver who understands what it takes to get the job done, with an all-or-nothing attitude.

Associate Director

I am a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA), and started at HSPlus in 2011. I love playing touch football and spending time with my Labradors. I appreciate building strong relationships with my clients, and working alongside them to achieve their business goals.

Rebecca Poutsma

General Manager

I joined HSPlus in 2016 and have enjoyed working closely with clients to assist them with their business and tax needs ever since. A big part of my role is supporting the team and ensuring our clients always feel informed, valued, and well looked after. Outside of work, you will find me shopping or planning my next travel adventure.

Emily Smith

Office Manager

I started at HSPlus in 2013. I am highly experienced and exceptionally organised, to ensure the business operates with efficiency and precision behind the scenes. I do my best to keep everything running smoothly — so our Chartered Accountants and advisors can focus on delivering the best possible experience for every client.

Deanna Henare

I joined HSPlus in 2020 and am currently completing my Chartered Accountant program, working closely with our team to help clients achieve their goals. Outside of work, you will find me playing guitar, cricket, or enjoying the great outdoors.

Lachlan Day

I'm a detail-oriented bookkeeper committed to keeping your financial records accurate and your operations running smoothly. Outside of work, my family and I share a passion for martial arts, valuing the discipline, focus, and community it brings.

Belinda Small

As a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA), I love guiding clients through SMSF compliance, tax strategies, and superannuation planning — helping them make important decisions with clarity and care. Outside of work, you will find me meditating, practising yoga, bush walking, or on the pickleball court.

Kaylee Li

I enjoy helping clients achieve their financial goals through teamwork and open communication, and am currently completing my Chartered Accountant (CA) program. Outside of work, you will find me on the field hockey pitch, spending time with family, or settled in with a favourite TV show and a good cup of tea.

Chris Budd

I work to achieve the best possible results for clients by exploring relevant tax laws and applying them to each unique situation, and am currently completing my Chartered Accountant (CA) program. Outside of work, my two daughters keep me busy with plenty of trips to the park.

Kristian Lane
